NEW ONLINE BOOK: Letters to the Charismatic Church
Our National Director Richard Moy has been writing again. You can read his latest thinking each Saturday in instalments.
He writes: It's time to start writing again: I'll be serialising a little free book on my blog, with instalments each Saturday until the end of November. So if you're looking for a coffee time read here it is. It's called 'Letters to the Charismatic Church' and explores issues and opportunities 65 years into the movement impacting the part of God's great church I am located in.
It's quite personal, as I've found I need to re-write myself back into some sections so I have at least three fingers pointing at me where necessary. It's a wonderful movement, that has been through a very, very tough year. It's a movement where we need some reflection, but a movement with a lot more to offer if we can get on course.
It touches on success, power, worship, theology, our history and the need for the world wide church to give us perspective, and finishes with two prophetic chapters on the ‘swamp’ and on the ‘meat-market’.
If no-one else reads it it will at least have done me some good, but if you do read and want to be in touch you can reach me by commenting on socials, the blog or on my SOMA UK email: richard.moy@somauk.org

[Note for overseas readers: In the UK ‘Charismatic’ is a term that applies widely to churches which have experienced Holy Spirit renewal within the Church of England and other historic denominations, not just to ‘new’ churches. You can be evangelical, liturgical and charismatic. Charismatic does not mean prosperity theology but an openness to the Holy Spirit’s graces and power].
