Sweden serenaded
National Leadership Team member Jon Kissell shared his heart with the gathered ministers in a Lutheran Church in West Sweden at a recent SOMA led conference. Then he got up on the stage and strummed the lead guitar.
He had just shared how the hard times in ministry had given him a great heart, patience and passion for those in ministry. We are not alone in our times of trial as leaders.
The song he then sang spoke of tears. It tells some of his hurt and pain, before shifting a gear to him talking to himself, his soul, and in an awakening moment, asking ‘why am i so downcast?’
As Jon played These Tears it gave permission for us all to be vulnerable. To be courageous in sharing, to step out and start again.
Ministry flowed with leaders from all backgrounds gently coming to receive prayer. The dam was burst. God was on the move.
