SOMA ‘no longer a guest’ here, but family

Bishop Onesphore. thanked God for the visit to Makamba diocese where ministers in Burundi have been equipped with power from the Holy Spirit and refreshed for their ongoing ministry.

Talking to team leader Ven Kevin Roberts, the Bishop expressed his desire for the teaching to be spread into all the parishes as well as ‘even there they still need new strength and be empowered for ministry in Christ Jesus’

Since its founding in 1979 SOMA teams have worked closely with local Bishops around the world. We often find that Bishops value the personal impact for them of having an outside group come encourage and pray for them. Bishop Onesphore asked for prayer for leading others which ‘is not an easy thing.’ Asking for wisdom to lead them in a way that they can grow up in trusting God in their Christian life.

His ‘humble request is that this should not stop here.’ The huge task the dioceses in Burundi face in one of the poorest areas of the world are huge. The Bishop concluded that SOMA is no longer a guest here but family.

Thank you to all who have supported this mission and SOMAs mission to ‘join the Holy Spirit tending to the nervous system of the body of Christ’ around the world. Enabling our teams to reach dioceses like Makamba is a an enormous blessing.
