While I filmed, they forgave

SOMA Team member John Lambert went on mission to Rwanda to act as a videographer, but found out that the Lord had plans for him beyond his camera.

John first connected to SOMA UK when he designed and edited this website. John is the founder of breathe:design a company whose name suggests spending a great deal of time, thought, or effort on something. That is exactly the care and attention John has poured into SOMA over the past four years. In November 2025 he finally got to see firsthand what SOMA looks like up close and personal.

Team Leader Wayne Massey said that ‘John added so much in character, faith, personality and skills,’ and the training sessions showed that he was already going to be a key part of the team as the Lord gave him words and pictures for people in prayer that really helped.

But one incident on the visit stood out: After a training session on forgiveness John was asked to film someone give their story of struggling and needing to forgive. As he started filming they opened up their heart to him and their interpreter. Amazingly, the Lord broke through, and as they shared their story forgiveness began to flow leading to breakthrough. As John put it later, ‘As I filmed, they forgave. You could see the transformation on their face.’

Just one of many stories to tell from this wonderful visit. More reports to follow:
