Exhausted but ‘Joy overwhelming’

Will Pearson Gee, is on his way home from Kenya today. He writes:

Our mission trip has come to an end, the conferences are finished and the teaching has been delivered. We are all pretty exhausted but the sense of joy is overwhelming.

We have all had our different parts to play: some to teach, some to pray, some to encourage and some to paint prophetically. It’s been a wonderful picture of the body of Christ using many different gifts all for the same purpose. Although I have no doubt that we have all given, it is what we have received which is what we will be giving thanks for.

Seeing so many prayers being answered, so many sceptical church leaders suddenly discovering that the Holy Spirit really does impart power to heal and to set free, has grown all of us in our faith.

Although numbers were relatively low here in Nairobi, the impact has been more profound and deeper. We left Holy Trinity Kibera literally singing with joy as we sang some of the old hymns from their Golden Bells hymnal last printed in 1970! Such was the joy in our worship that we couldn’t stop smiling, dancing and celebrating the goodness of God. “It has been transformational“ was one comment; “my life won’t be the same again after this“ was another.

So there is much to give thanks for, much to celebrate and a lot of fire to bring back home. I can’t wait to see how our home Church will be impacted.

More reports from the team to come, but check out this invitation from Will to experience the is overwhelming joy for yourself.
