Leaders Retreat

Today, SOMA UK gathers its Trustees and National Leadership Team, for an overlapping programme in the beautiful setting of the Oxfordshire countryside, at Ripon College.

Key to the agenda is review process on our six strategic goals:

  1. META Youth - developing and expanding our provision for 16-19s in the UK and internationally.

  2. Missions - building capacity for our enormous opportunities to work and minister around the world, and enabling SOMA Churches, Colleges, Discipleship HUBs and others to Encounter God Globally through a SOMA Mission.

  3. Community of Prayer - increasing our rootedness in prayer, in an ongoing way and in immediate intercession surround missions and other events. SOMA Only works on prayer.

  4. Communications and Story Telling - amplifying the voices of the Global South and bringing back ‘olive branches of hope’ to the West as we see God at work in places of poverty, persecution, persistence and even revival. We are also working with global partners to write a SOMA teaching book and will report on great progress made.

  5. Partnerships and Fundraising - building the necessary partnerships to amplify those voices, recruit new teams and facilitate encounters with God that empower the Church in evangelism all around the world.

  6. Operational infrastructure - as we build capacity so we continue to professionalise as a charity in every way imaginable - from policies to processes… lots of the vital work goes on behind the scenes and we are so grateful to the staff and volunteers who make that happen.

Should be a great day Thursday together, with Trustees staying overnight for a Friday board meeting.
