Wonderful response to May/June Appeal - Thank you God.
It is a tremendous joy to be able to announce that we have received £50,750 in response to our May/June appeal. This includes £9000 in pledges to come in before the end of 2024. God is faithful and has done more than we could ask or imagine. This includes donations from seven churches and 75 individuals, as well as two trusts who gave £5000 each.
We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed in this way.
When we had a day of prayer and fasting for SOMA on 20 June we still had some way to go, but National Leadership Team member Becky Harcourt, among others, had words of encouragement and reassurance that God would provide. She said that sometimes the provision comes in not when you’d like it, but when you really need it, and that was our experience as well.
Going forward we will continue to need to raise funds for SOMA’s great big vision and would be delighted to sign up both regular supporters and partner churches to facilitate that. We are also looking for major donors to fund projects such as our online teaching roll out, sponsor missions, create a bursary fund to enable mission around the world ‘from everywhere to everywhere’ so we can facilitate a truly global mission, as well as to cover our core costs and staffing our activities. At a recent residential retreat SOMA Trustee Wayne Massey said he has a vision of 200 church and 500 individuals getting behind SOMA UK in the next 5 years. Could that be you?
