Way to celebrate a birthday Wayne

Wayne Massey, one of the SOMA UK trustees celebrated his birthday on Sunday with a 7.5 hour overland journey to Kasese from Kampala..

When they arrived at the Cathedral, at the foot of the 'Mount Tabor' prayer mountain they were greeted formally bey the Bishop and team. Bishop Nason has gathered an amazing 3000 preachers this week for an exciting week of outreach building on the SOMA programme in June 2022 and many other evangelistic and training initiatives put together by Bishop Nason and his mission coordinator Canon William and their teams.

SOMA team on their way to Kasese

All those from outside of the diocese are being put up in the homes of church families that it might be a time of encouragement for them.

Each morning starts at 6.30am with the service of Morning Glory (intercessory prayer meeting), and there is an opening service of the mission where the whole team will be commissioned, before the 3000 preachers are dispersed around the diocese for one to one and open air evangelism.

The SOMA team is made up of Henry and Helen Blair (Ireland), Wayne Massey (UK), Rev Joshua Opondo from Kenya, Rev James Arinda, from Kampala and Ivan from Kampala who works part-time as an evangelist for the diocese and supported by Andrew Corke (UK) as the SOMA Intercession Coordinator.

Prayer Requests from the team:

1. For us as a team as we settle into the flow of the mission for an ongoing sense of team unity.

2. That the issue off language and understanding people as we talk to them one to one will flow.

3. For real rest tonight that all effects of the travel of Friday until today will be gone from our system.

4. For evangelistic fruitfulness.

5. For team members from the UK and Ireland to be able to bring back olive branches of hope to these islands from this amazing mission.

And, happy birthday Wayne!
