So Blessed by Rwanda

It was a delight to return home from the Shyogwe Diocese in Rwanda with my heart full of hope for God’s church around the world despite the troubles we find ourselves in. God is good. In Shyogwe we found a group of faith-filled women and men ordained as pastors (revds), catechists (leaders of congregations of up to 100 or so people, and intercessors and evangelists who were commissioned to serve the churches. The worship was wonderful and rhythmic, with dancing employed especially in songs talking about sorrows and asking in faith that God would intervene in them.

We have had the joy of seeing people released and refreshed in spiritual gifts and other graces, some set free from things that have bound them for many years, and to hear the bible teached, understood and put into action. Bishop Jared told us on the final day that his phone had been ringing all week with ministers saying they wanted more of the teaching SOMA International had been able to bring them.

We come away humbled by the Rwandan’s intercessions for us in England and moved by their incredible hospitality and love. It was also a great encouragement to hear of the ongoing fruit from previous SOMA visits dating back to 1996 and how that has shaped the lives of many leaders in the church today. Truly a ‘parachute’ mission can change a church, diocese or nation, when it is directed closely by the only One who is the true History Maker.
