Global SOMA boards consider a shared future for SOMA International

International Chair Archbishop Justin Badi Arama commissions Revd Buli (South Africa) and Revd Andrew (New Zealand) as Vice-Chair and Chair of the SOMA National Directors.

After an amazing time together in Rwanda and the follow up multinational mission in Ireland, the National Directors of SOMA Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, and USA have gone back to their boards with their hopes and dreams of working together more closely to multiply ministry around the world.

In our 36 hours together as a board, then on mission together in Shyogwe Diocese, there was a wonderful sense of God bringing us into alignment for his purposes.

At a time when the Anglican World faces incredible challenges, we were commissioned to take our DNA of renewal and evangelism from anywhere to everywhere. As SOMA continues to join the Holy Spirit, tending to the nervous system of the body of Christ, it may be that SOMA is here for such a time as this - to connect the body of Christ when we really need to understand each other’s pain and context. A time when we really need to see the body wake up - especially in the West.

Please pray for the boards and National Directors as they work through implications in each of their nations of working together. Pray for a common mind, and a shared passion for the gospel to prevail and a clear sense of calling and purpose as boards meet and talk together. Please pray especially for those national SOMAs going through substantial change at the moment (of trustees/leaders) and for a fresh wind of God’s spirit for the ministry across the nations.
