Trustees meet sparks faith journey

SOMA Trustees met with the National Director, Richard Moy; the META Youth lead Stu Wright and the incoming Operations Officer, Claire Bateman in London last week to review all the progress made in 2024 and look ahead to 2025. They were joined by Sarah Taylor (news Clerk to Trustees) and Nev Towers (Hon Treasurer). Jules Morgan was confirmed as a new trustee.

Kevin Roberts commented. 'What a great day we had, and how good to welcome new Trustees and members of staff,' and longest standing trustee Jenny Brown concurred adding that it was particularly good to see everyone in real life! Claire Nye, a new trustee in 2024, had the opportunity the next day to talk to her work colleagues about SOMA, prompted by their questions about her day off, and one of her colleagues told her that it has inspired her to start attending her church again! Even our meetings are ministry.

The trustees will continued to recruit new members and are particularly interested in candidates with legal skills, or experience of living in the Global South, as well as young people who may have benefited from the META youth programme. Fundraising skills are always appreciated as well! Contact chair@somauk.org if you'd like to nominate anyone.
