South Sudan - hunger for teaching as team start in Wau

For experienced international preachers Paul and Becky Harcourt this was a teaching engagement like no other. 100 young leaders have gathered for the first of two SOMA Provincial Youth Missions, with leaders drawn from across the whole region. This national strategy means group arriving from a wide range of tribal areas from across the Internal Province and many of whom cannot understand the translator.

The fix has been to sit the participants in smaller groups where someone can translate the translator. But that has not stopped the hunger for the teaching. Paul and Becky, along with their team of Kay, William and Ronald have been adjusting the material and had to overrrun on the first session when they found questions at the end of first day overran by 45 minutes.

This follows on from an orientation day in Juba, where they also got to visit the the Provincial Office and see the discipleship materials being developed.

We’re praying for a great encounter with God as the conference progresses and delighted to have another international team back in South Sudan.
